We are proud to offer our AxleBack exhaust for the 2008+ Subaru WRX STi Hatchback/5 Door and the 2011+ Subaru WRX Hatchback/5 Door. Our goal with this project was to develop a high flowing, low-drone design when combined with a full TurboBack Exhaust.
The result was a 3" into dual 2.25" axleback featuring quad double wall staggered tips, all stainless TIG welded construction that is Handbuilt to Order in America. This design also has the benefit of perfectly even flow from the right to left as well as out of each of the four tips. No biased flow here like you may find on muffler designs that use a baffled internal resonance chamber.

NEW in April 2012! We now offer 4 different volume levels for the GR Hatch!
For comparison purposes we will use a scale of 1-10 for volume, 1 being stock and 10 being no mufflers.
Magnaflow: The quietest option we offer is our old version that uses a Magnaflow muffler, this configuration is very quiet even with a full turboback exhaust. We offer this version with both our 3.5" single wall slash cut tips and our 3" double wall tips in both staggered and non staggered flavors. We also offer this version with our exclusive double wall 3.5" or 4" tips both staggered and non-staggered at a $175 or $150 premium, respectively. This is about a 2 on the scale.
5" Mufflers: This is our new design that uses our in-house mufflers. We build each of these mufflers by hand here in our shop with our usual attention to detail. This "Less Quiet" version uses 2 mufflers that measure 6" long and 5" outer diameter. Despite their small size, these mufflers are extremely effective. We offer this version with our 3.5" single wall slash cut tips in both staggered and non staggered flavors. We also offer this version with our exclusive double wall 3.5" or 4" tips both staggered and non-staggered at a $175 or $150 premium, respectively. This is about a 5 on the scale.
4" Mufflers: This is our new design that uses our in-house mufflers. We build each of these mufflers by hand here in our shop with our usual attention to detail. This "Louder" version uses 2 mufflers that measure 6" long and 4" outer diameter. Despite their small size, these mufflers are extremely effective. The 4" mufflers are louder than the 5" mufflers. We offer this version with our 3.5" single wall slash cut tips in both staggered and non staggered flavors. We also offer this version with our exclusive double wall 3.5" or 4" tips both staggered and non-staggered at a $175 or $150 premium, respectively. This is about a 7 on the scale.
No Mufflers: Finally, the sound of the Sedan Muffler Delete for the hatch! We have had people banging down our door for this since we released the original muffler delete for the sedan. We offer this version with our 3.5" single wall slash cut tips in both staggered and non staggered flavors. We also offer this version with our exclusive double wall 3.5" or 4" tips both staggered and non-staggered at a $175 or $150 premium, respectively. This is a 10 on the scale.
Please keep in mind that we only trust extremely skilled craftsmen to build your parts. Qualified welders who are able to meet our standards in both fit and finish are extremely hard to find and as a result are very expensive. The end result is the highest quality, most functional product that is also a work of art worthy of a gallery.
Here are some videos on our blog of the version that uses the magnaflow muffler: GR Hatch AxleBack Exhaust Video
We include a gasket that combines with the stock gasket to adapt this 3" axleback to the stock midpipe.
Finally, here are the Beta Test Notes written up by the local GR hatch owner who ran our prototype testing.

Urethane Exhaust Hanger Bushings:
These are recommended if you race your car or enjoy spirited driving. During hard cornering the exhaust "wags" left to right which sometimes causes the tips to touch the bumper. When this happens there is a chance your bumper can be damaged. The best way to avoid this is to use our urethane exhaust bushings to hold the exhaust in place better than the factory rubber bushings. For occasional spirited driving we recommend 2 bushings replacing the two rear-most bushings. For occasional driving on a race track we recommend 4 replacing all of the factory bushings used to hold the axleback on. For dedicated racers we recommend 5, this replaces all of the factory exhaust bushings used to hold the exhaust to the car.

I ordered the axleback with the 5" mufflers. It has the perfect sound level for me and if I swap out the midpipe later it still won't be too loud. It takes a little time to get your order but the build quality and fit are excellent. It only took about 20 minutes to swap out. Very happy with my purchase.

I ordered the Muffler Delete version for my 2013 WRX. Everything was cut perfectly for the car. Fitment is great, didn't take much to put it on, and the sound is very very deep. There is no raspy or fart can sound. I drive 40 miles each way to and from work on an interstate and you hear the exhaust some but not the rediculous drone sound. Great product, great Customer Service, and USA made.

Just got my Nameless muffler delete yesterday and installed it. I have to say the welds are amazing and it does look like a work of art. My 2014 WRX hatch is all stick beside the axle back and it sounds out of this world. Yes it's loud, but not crazy loud and at highway speeds you can still talk in the car and talk on the Bluetooth with no issues. The car seems to run and rev up a bit smoother and so far I have picked up about 3MPG. Now there are only 2 things I don't like. One I'm not a huge fan of the 2.5-3" set up with the jumper gasket-sure it works, but it does seem to leak a bit when cold at times. I would have used a 2.5 flange and pipe that expanded to 3" if need be, but oh well I did not design it. Also I placed my order on 1/21/14 and just got it on 4/02/14 when I was told 2-3 week lead time with about 5 day shipping time, that I was not super happy about at all. Overall it a great product.

Craftsmanship and quality is everything I expected. I have the 5 inch mufflers with 3.5 double wall staggered tips. The sound and finish is excellent. I am wanting to add the midpipe next to complete the catback!

2011 Hatch STI
Nameless Axleback 5" muffler, 4"quad tips, non stagger, double walled, 4 hanger.
I live in California and I would say this exhaust is borderline getting pulled over. Its loud but not loud enough for the cops to get on your ass. It has a deep rumble sound around 2-3k rpm and roars after 3.5 rpm. Looks badass, Install was easy, fitment is perfect. white smoke comes out evenly on all 4 tips. Cant ask for a better exhaust

After watching countless youtube videos, I finally decided to pull the trigger on the 5" mufflers with 3.5" single walled staggered tips (plus there was a holiday sale going on!). Got it in about 6 weeks and everything was packaged neatly, even the tips were individually wrapped. Took about 20 mins to install and I didn't even have to adjust it to make it look even. It finally sounds like it should! Louder than stock, enough for the wife to ask me what that 'noise' was coming from the back of the car, haha! Overall this is an excellent product, and even better - made in the USA!

I was worried the 4" mufflers would be to loud well trust me they are not. It made the WRX sound great and lost 18 pounds of exhaust weight. If your worried about it being to loud stop worrying it sounds way better than the Magna flow or 5" version. Install time was 14 minutes. The welds look awesome and the Nameless laser etched braces are a great touch. I would buy again and be willing to pay more!

This Axleback was top notch when it arrived at my door. From the time I ordered it to the time I received it was somewhere between 3-4 weeks. It would have arrived sooner but Ryan informed me that their photographer was using it for photos to update their website.
Ryan was extremely helpful and always willing to answer any and all questions I had. The weld on this piece were amazing and I installed it same day even though it was freezing out. At first it seemed louder than expected because I was used to stock for so long.
I have seance put almost 1k miles on the exhaust and my ears have become accustomed to the sound. It is definitely on par with their sound rating. It is only slightly louder than stock but enough to hear that rumble on the inside that we all want. My one friend noticed it within seconds upon riding in my car. Others have not noticed the difference. It all depends on your ear for things. If you are looking for a high quality piece that offers a little more rumble over stock then this is it.
I wanted something that gave a little more tone but not so much as to get hassled. I initially wanted the 5" mufflers but knew I'd be possibly adding a DP and mid pipe at some point. and didn't want something loud and too noticeable. Again that is subjective to where you live. This is definitely the perfect sound to be heard but not overheard.
I was so impressed with the axle back, quality and outstanding customer service that I ordered their catted down pipe 3 weeks later during their one in a lifetime sale. I will be sure to review that piece as well. I know I will be more than pleased with it. If I still want more tone I will be adding their mid pipe as well.
Nameless Performance is an AMAZING company and their customer service is what we all want.
Thanks again everyone at NP and a special thanks to Ryan.

I purchased the 5” axleback muffler after a lot of research of various exhausts and watching of YouTube videos. The ordering process was seamless. The website was very intuitive and it allowed me to configure the setup exactly how I wanted it. Once ordered, I received an email explaining what the various terms of status meant when I checked the status online. I had been in communication with the Nameless team periodically through the build process to check in on when the queue was going to start, end, etc. They were extremely helpful.
When the setup was delivered, it was in a big box with giant NAMELESS lettering on the sides and the packaging was very thorough. The box was extremely thick, there was a TON of recycled paper used as packing filler, and the tips were wrapped nicely with plastic and cardboard. In the packaging came 2 Nameless stickers about 8” in length, a soda (beer) can koozie, and a replacement gasket. No nuts and bolts were included so make sure yours are easy to take off or have an extra set handy if you need to cut off your existing. Actually, just make sure you have a replacement set anyways so when it comes, you can just drop your existing and throw this on.
Installation was a breeze. If it takes you 20 minutes to install, then that was far too long. In reality, I think it took 15 minutes. I had already performed installation preparation on my exhaust so the night of installation it was quick and painless. Prior to the installation, I had dropped my mid-pipe, used a brush attachment to an angle grinder to remove all of the oxidation from the mid-pipe and then spray painted it with high-temp primer and high-temp aluminum spray paint. The reasoning behind this is because the stock muffler blocks the view of the mid-pipe when someone looks at the rear of your car but the Nameless muffler is slimmed down and tucked behind the bumper the mid-pipe is now visible with its ugly oxidation. I wanted it to look clean and professional so thus the mid-pipe prep. I highly recommend this.
Once installed, inside the car while driving it’s very prominent that there's an exhaust and you can hear the definition of the rumble windows up and more so when down. You can very easily have a conversation with your radio on 10 or 12 without raising your voice. Regarding the topic of drone, this is tough because drone is subjective. What you consider reverberation may not bother me but will to you or vice versa. However, during my research of this exhaust, the reviews I found to be extremely accurate with what I consider drone and that this does not have any, or very little if any. I have about 3000 miles on it now and the first time I drove with it on it seemed to be louder in the car than it is now but even when it was louder in the car, it's not annoying.
On the outside of the car, it’s a different story. The sound this thing produces is absolutely amazing. It’s always producing the loved, boxer rumble during calm driving and under heavy acceleration. The heavier your foot is, the louder it is. I love it. I am a member of a large Subaru community in New Hampshire and I receive compliments on the way this sounds at every meet and cruise.
There are a lot of exhausts available for the WRX/STI, both expensive and inexpensive. I would categorize this muffler as on the expensive side BUT you get what you paid for. The welds are astounding, clean and beefy. It’s handmade, built to order, not something that’s been mass produced and sitting on a shelf for years. You’re supporting a small business who thrives on quality and customer satisfaction. If you are looking for a new muffler set up for your WRX/STI, you need to consider this Nameless.
I created a video review for your enjoyment. For some reason my iPhone didn’t pick up the audio too well inside the car but it’s much more audible inside the car. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnczPoFLuF4
