On most Subarus, the rear differential is the lowest point of the vehicle’s underbody. Without protection, it acts as an anchor, catching on rocks, roots, and ledges—potentially cracking the cast-iron housing or damaging the mounting studs.

The Primitive Racing R160 Rear Differential Skid Plate is the "Original" solution for off-road Subarus. This heavy-duty 3/16" aluminum plate wraps around the bottom and front of the differential, transforming a vulnerable catching point into a smooth, armored surface that allows you to "sled" over trail obstacles with confidence.

High-Clearance Design: Form-fitted to the R160 housing to maximize ground clearance while providing total coverage for the bottom of the differential and makes a great jack-up point!

Heavy-Duty 3/16" Aluminum: Laser-cut and CNC-formed from 5052 Aluminum for maximum impact resistance without the weight of steel.

Tapered Leading Edge: The front of the plate is angled to ensure that if you do make contact, the car slides forward rather than coming to a dead stop.

5-Bolt Mounting: Specifically designed for the 5-bolt pattern common on R160 rear differentials found on a wide variety of Subaru models.

Proven Performance: A staple in the rally and overland community for decades; tested in the harshest environments from the ARA Rally stage to the Rubicon Trail.
