We continuously get requests for a heat shield designed for our twin circuit long tube downpipe for the WRX & STi, and we had designed a few early on. But as always, our goal is to be committed to constant improvement and come up with a downpipe heat shield that is tailored toward our downpipe (while remaining useful on other downpipes that are on the market) while bringing design improvements to market vs. the competition that is already established. So we invested some extra effort and came up with a two layer downpipe heatshield that features an upper anodized aluminum layer with an air gap between it and the lower T304 Stainless heat shield. Above and beyond that air gap design feature, we offer a ultra high temp matte black ceramic coating (two layers, baked independently onto the stainless lower heat shield) to maximize heat resistance. This also allows you to choose an anodizing color for the visible upper portion of the heat shield, either Red, Blue, or Black
The advantages of running an aftermarket heat shield are improving the heat transfer between the hot turbocharger/downpipe combo and the top mount intercooler situated above it. There are also some other advantages to reducing engine bay heat, but they all go back to reducing the thermal transfer of this excess heat into the components in the engine bay that carry charge air and induction air.
This heat shield retains all of the factory brackets and utilizes factory mount points. It is compatible with most downpipes but is specifcally designed to provide clearance around divorced wastegate designs.

Well made piece. No hardware, PDF Instructions or video on installation. But when I emailed customer support they responded quickly.

Came in with my DP, and did everything all at once. I had the intercooler off at the time, so install was a bit easier. It looks much, much, much better than OEM, and I can't say for sure about performance helping, but I'm going to guess its better. Lets the DP breathe, but keeps that heat away from the IC, just like its supposed to do. Just another awesome Nameless product!

Great build quality and spot on color with the red matching the engine color.
I wish it were more visible as it seemed like a wast to have it hidden so deep in the engine bay.
Cant really comment on the improvement in performance as it is hard to gauge, but i cant see it having a negative impact.

Beside the original bolts being a pain the new piping went on pretty easily. Very large down pipe but with room to spare. Appreciate the hook up to original brackets.

I've noticed some head shields are a bit on the thin side, but this thing is SOLID. I have one that had the rivet issue, which the new ones don't have, but the guys at Nameless are out to right their wrong and offered me return shipping to repair it.
I'm a busy guy, so I instead ordered a SECOND heat shield for another car and will send my one with bad rivets in later.
Once again, another awesome Nameless product!

Not much to say here. Its a heat shield, very easy install. Factory uses an unnecessary amount of bolts to hold on the factory shield. My came blue and looks cool. Its a shame I'll never see it under everything. Fitment was excellent.

Installed on 05 Legacy GT with Cobb downpipe- easy fitment and solid connection. Build quality top notch as expected from Nameless. The blue shield looks good under the hood too! Highly reccomend.
