Intake - 2020-2025 Subaru Outback Turbo - Brushed Stainless

Improve airflow to your turbocharger with our mandrel bent T304 stainless intake tube for the 2020-2025 Subaru Outback XT and Wilderness. The overcomplicated OEM plastic design sports a number of features that do great things for silencing turbo noise, but they also do a lot for promoting turbulence in the intake - in an area where turbulence and disturbance of flow cuts against the volumetric efficiency of your engine. Subaru accomplishes this silencing in two ways - one with corrugated tubing design to reduce high frequency noises, and the other with helmholtz resonator plumbed into the intake tube to cancel lower frequency sounds. Both negatively impact airflow feeding your turbocharger, so lets send them to the 'take off parts' bin in the corner of your garage.

Design:

This intake replaces the tubing between the turbocharger and the factory airbox. Retention of the factory airbox and mass airflow sensor keeps the upgrade from requiring a recalibration of the MAF scaling - and after a year in the field on three different models of engine featuring the FA24DIT, we are still right in the OEM long term fuel trim range with no check engine lights or issues with engine calibration. Keeping the factory airbox also keeps your filter high and dry - something most of our Ascent & Outback customers want when they're spending time off road exploring trails and adventuring in the backcountry.

Installation:

Installation requires basic hand tools and some patience - you'll need to have access under the vehicle as well as to the engine bay - and about the same amount of time that you'd take to do an oil change.

All hardware is included - featuring Norma TORRO drive band clamps for perfect sealing, 5 layer reinforced black silicone couplers and an attractive brushed stainless intake tube that you will enjoy looking at until it is installed and disappears into the depths of your engine bay.

As you're only be able to see the intake tube through a few gaps in the other components in the engine bay, we are currently only offering this system in brushed stainless, although the surface is ready for the paint or powdercoating of your choice if you're looking for a particular color.
